National Apprenticeship Week - Meet Sciena
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week we have been spotlighting our fantastic apprentices from across our nurseries.
Meet Sciena from Hopscotch Peacehaven. She has recently completed her Level 2.
1. Why did you want to do an apprenticeship in Early Years?
I wanted to do an apprenticeship as I was looking for a stable job during Covid. I really enjoyed completing my Level 2 and have progressed to Level 3.
2. What does a typical day at nursery look like?
Busy but with structure and routine which makes the day go quickly. I love spending time with the children.
3. What is your favourite part of the day?
My favourite part of the day is when I get to do messy play and garden time with the children as they can explore.
4. What is the best part about working with children?
The best part about working with children is I get to watch the children grow and develop from babies all the way up to pre-school.
5. Would you recommend doing an apprenticeship? Why?
Yes as it is a good way to gain experience and a qualification at the same time. Unlike University you earn money whilst learning.
6. Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship with Hopscotch?
Hopscotch offers the best of everything in terms of pay and support.
7. Can share with me your fondest memory to date at Hopscotch?
My fondest memories to date are celebrating Hopscotch’s 35thanniversary with the wider Hopscotch team and our nurseries’ Sport Day.
8. Where do you see yourself professionally in 5 Years? Do you think that’s achievable at Hopscotch?
I would love to become an Early Years Teacher at Hopscotch.
