National Apprenticeship Week - Meet Charlotte and Rachel

We’re celebrating our apprentices this week for National Apprenticeship Week. Meet Charlotte from our Peacehaven nursery. She is one of our apprentices currently studying for her Level 2.

1. Why did you want to do an apprenticeship in Early Years?

I wanted to be a teacher and had completed work experience whilst I was at school. I really enjoyed working with younger children whilst I was on work experience.

2. What is your favourite part of the day?

I enjoy reading stories to the children and singing their favourite songs with them.

3. Would you recommend doing an apprenticeship? 

Yes. I like learning whilst I’m on the job.

4. Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship with Hopscotch?

I had some fantastic recommendations about Hopscotch and after visiting their website thought it looked like a great place to work.

5. Can share your fondest memory to date at Hopscotch?

My fondest memory at Hopscotch has been taking part in the Christmas concert with the children.

Rachel is one of our lovely apprentices from our Peacehaven nursery. We wanted to find out why Rachel got into doing an apprenticeship in Early Years.

1. Why did you want to do an apprenticeship in Early Years?

I have loved working with children in the past and wanted to take my experience to a professional level.

2. What is your favourite part of the day?

My favourite part of the day is creating activities for the children that they will learn from. I love watching them interact with materials they are given.

4. What is the best part about working with children?

The best part of working with children is watching them develop from small babies to toddlers. I love watching children reach milestones like walking and talking.

5. Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship with Hopscotch?

I chose to do my apprenticeship with Hopscotch because of the good vibe of the place. The nursery environment was very inviting and they was a good pay incentive.
