We take immense pride in collaborating with a variety of local charities to provide financial support, practical assistance, and heightened awareness.

Hopscotch in the Community

Charity of the Year - Amaze

At Hopscotch, supporting families and children goes beyond our nurseries — it's central to who we are. That’s why we’re proud to support Amaze as our Charity of the Year.

Amaze is a Sussex-based organisation that provides vital support to families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Chosen by our staff, Amaze reflects the kind of positive impact we want to help make in our wider community.

Events and Achievements

Over the past year, we’ve raised an incredible £6,177 for Amaze — and we’re not stopping there.

And this year, we’re proud to be matching every single pound raised by our community — doubling the impact we can make together.

With the support of our amazing families, staff and little ones, we’ve organised a whole range of exciting events and taken on some brilliant challenges.

  • Beach Clean: Along Brighton seafront, our staff and families came together to clean up and raise funds for Amaze.

  • Hopscotch Olympics: More than 200 toddlers took part in a joyful day of hopping, skipping and jumping — raising smiles and money for a great cause.

  • Hopscotchathon: Children across all seven Hopscotch nurseries took part in a fun-filled Hopscotch-a-thon, hopping their hearts out to raise money for Amaze. The event was full of laughter, energy and determination — and the hop totals were impressive!

  • Staff Challenges: Our incredible team have stepped out of their comfort zones with sponsored fire walks, half marathons, and even abseiling down Peacehaven Cliffs — all in the name of fundraising.

  • Art Exhibition: To close the year, children from across our nurseries proudly displayed and sold their artwork.

With even more fun, challenges and family events still to come, we’re excited to keep building on this amazing partnership and making a real difference together.

Little Green Pig

Little Green Pig transforms lives through the power of creative writing. This small Brighton and Hove-based charity believes in offering children and young people opportunities to develop their writing skills and nurture their imaginations. They mentor participants through after-school clubs, residencies, and projects, aiming to boost their confidence, self-expression, and creative potential. Hopscotch has contributed to Little Green Pig’s 2024 Christmas Campaign, ensuring they have the necessary funding for 2025.

We ❤ Sussex

Our commitment to the Sussex community is unwavering. Our nurseries organize visits for children to local care homes, where they read with residents, engage in arts and crafts, and perform Christmas songs together. Additionally, children enjoy gardening with local volunteers at Seaford Community Garden and St Anne’s Well Garden, fostering a sense of responsibility as they care for and watch their plants grow.

Moreover, our children understand the significance of maintaining clean beaches and parks. They have participated in community clean-up initiatives on Brighton and Seaford beaches, demonstrating their dedication to environmental stewardship.

Local Suppliers, Paid Promptly

As a small business we understand that being paid on time is important for paying our staff and keeping things running that’s why we signed up to the prompt payment code to ensure that we pay our suppliers on time every month. In addition we always prioritise trying to use local companies to ensure we support our thriving community of businesses and entrepreneurs around Brighton & Hove and Sussex.
