Positive Partnerships for Doing Good
We take immense pride in collaborating with a variety of local charities to provide financial support, practical assistance, and heightened awareness.
Hopscotch in the Community
Our Charity Partnership with Amaze
At Hopscotch, supporting families and children goes beyond our nurseries - it's central to who we are. That’s why we’re proud to support Amaze as our Charity of the Year.
Amaze is a Sussex-based organisation that provides vital support to families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Chosen by our staff, Amaze reflects the kind of positive impact we want to help make in our wider community.
Since 2024, we’ve raised an incredible £6,177 for Amaze and we’re not stopping there.
This year, we’re matching every pound raised by our community, doubling the impact we can make together.

With the help of our families, staff and little ones, we’ve organised a variety of fun events and challenges:
- Beach Clean along Brighton seafront
- Hopscotch Olympics with more than 200 toddlers hopping, skipping and jumping for charity
- Hopscotchathon across all seven nurseries
- Staff Challenges including a 5km inflatable obstacle course, fire walks, half marathons and abseiling down Peacehaven Cliffs
- Art Exhibition across all our settings, showcasing and selling children’s artwork
Looking ahead, we’re deepening our commitment to Amaze in 2026 as the lead sponsor of the Learner Programme for their Story Trail event.
We can’t wait to keep building on this amazing partnership and making a real difference together.

Brighton Pride
Hopscotch was proud to have a Pride float in the 2025 Brighton & Hove Pride Parade, celebrating love, inclusivity and community. Our message, “Tiny hands hold big rainbows,” reflects our belief that even the smallest hands can carry big messages of kindness, equality and hope. We joined the parade to show our commitment to nurturing acceptance from an early age and to celebrate the values that shape our nurseries every day.

BrightPIP
At Hopscotch, infant mental health is at the heart of everything we do. In partnership with BrightPIP, a local charity that supports babies and parents to build strong, healthy relationships, we’ve developed an Infant Mental Health Policy that helps guide our practice across all settings. Together, we promote secure, nurturing bonds from the very start, and we offer parents workshops and events to help them understand and support their child’s emotional wellbeing during those vital early years. You can read the policy here.

Little Green Pig
Little Green Pig transforms lives through the power of creative writing. This small Brighton and Hove-based charity believes in offering children and young people opportunities to develop their writing skills and nurture their imaginations. They mentor participants through after-school clubs, residencies, and projects, aiming to boost their confidence, self-expression, and creative potential. Hopscotch has contributed to Little Green Pig’s 2024 Christmas Campaign, ensuring they have the necessary funding for 2025.

We ❤ Sussex
Our commitment to the Sussex community is unwavering. Our nurseries organize visits for children to local care homes, where they read with residents, engage in arts and crafts, and perform Christmas songs together. Additionally, children enjoy gardening with local volunteers at Seaford Community Garden and St Anne’s Well Garden, fostering a sense of responsibility as they care for and watch their plants grow.
Our children understand the significance of maintaining clean beaches and parks. They have participated in community clean-up initiatives on Brighton and Seaford beaches, demonstrating their dedication to environmental stewardship.

Local Suppliers, Paid Promptly
As a small business we understand that being paid on time is important for paying our staff and keeping things running that’s why we signed up to the prompt payment code to ensure that we pay our suppliers on time every month. In addition we always prioritise trying to use local companies to ensure we support our thriving community of businesses and entrepreneurs around Brighton & Hove and Sussex.
