Charity of the Year - Amaze

Our Charity of the Year is Amaze, a Sussex-based organization that, like us, places families and children at the core of its mission. The decision to support Amaze was made collectively by our staff, who recognize it as a vital resource within the Hopscotch community. Our commitment to Amaze includes organising events and participating in various challenges to bolster their cause.

Events and Achievements

• Beach Clean: Along the Brighton seafront, we raised £250 for Amaze.

• Hopscotch Olympics: A delightful event where 200 toddlers hopped, skipped, and jumped, successfully raising over £300 for Amaze.

• Upcoming Events:

o Hopscotch Fire Walk: In November, our team will bravely take on the Fire Walk challenge to generate funds for Amaze.

o Art Exhibition: As the year concludes, every Hopscotch child will showcase their artistic talents to support Amaze.

We eagerly anticipate our continued partnership with Amaze and the exciting events and challenges on the horizon.

Dad La Soul

Dad La Soul is dedicated to combating social isolation among fathers by organizing exceptional playdates for dads and kids, dads-only gatherings, and engaging online events. By leveraging music, the arts, play, and technology, they create a welcoming and supportive environment for fathers and other male-identifying carers. Hopscotch collaborates with Dad La Soul by hosting events specifically for Hopscotch dads and their children.

Little Green Pig

Little Green Pig transforms lives through the power of creative writing. This small Brighton and Hove-based charity believes in offering children and young people opportunities to develop their writing skills and nurture their imaginations. They mentor participants through after-school clubs, residencies, and projects, aiming to boost their confidence, self-expression, and creative potential. Hopscotch has contributed to Little Green Pig’s 2024 Christmas Campaign, ensuring they have the necessary funding for 2025.

We ❤ Sussex

Our commitment to the Sussex community is unwavering. Our nurseries organize visits for children to local care homes, where they read with residents, engage in arts and crafts, and perform Christmas songs together. Additionally, children enjoy gardening with local volunteers at Seaford Community Garden and St Anne’s Well Garden, fostering a sense of responsibility as they care for and watch their plants grow.

Moreover, our children understand the significance of maintaining clean beaches and parks. They have participated in community clean-up initiatives on Brighton and Seaford beaches, demonstrating their dedication to environmental stewardship.

Local Suppliers, Paid Promptly

As a small business we understand that being paid on time is important for paying our staff and keeping things running that’s why we signed up to the prompt payment code to ensure that we pay our suppliers on time every month. In addition we always prioritise trying to use local companies to ensure we support our thriving community of businesses and entrepreneurs around Brighton & Hove and Sussex.
